Local social enterprise Antur Waunfawr is celebrating after being awarded the North and Mid Wales Placement Host Award at the Jobcentre CWP award ceremony in Ewloe this October.

The award was sponsored by Working Links, an organisation dedicated to getting the long-term unemployed back into work. Antur has close ties with Working Links, having provided placements for 12 candidates through the scheme, which lead to employment for two of these individuals and further volunteering opportunities.

Held at the Village Hotel Club St David’s Park in Ewloe, the award ceremony was a chance to reward and highlight the successes of individuals and businesses taking part in community work placement schemes in North and Mid Wales.

Chief Executive of Antur Waunfawr, Menna Jones, said: “It was encouraging from the award ceremony just how much good work is undertaken by employers in North and Mid Wales to help unemployed individuals to develop skills and confidence at work. Antur believes strongly in these schemes, and recognises that the partnership with Working Links and the Jobcentre makes a huge difference to the successful outcomes achieved by the work placements.”
